Sidewalk Counseling FAQs!
WHAT IS IT?
- Sidewalk counselors undergo training on how to approach, converse with, and show true support for women in crisis, no matter the woman's specific circumstances. They learn how to present women with pro-life resources and support and how to inform them about abortion and a child's development.
- Once trained, counselors stand outside local abortion facilities like Whole Woman's Health and Planned Parenthood and reach out to women who are entering. Counselors are often the last chance for these women to hear a pro-life voice encouraging them to choose what is best for them and their child
WHY SHOULD YOU GO?
- Indiana's abortion ban is currently suspended and nearly 1,000 abortions happen in the state per month, so it is crucial that women considering abortion are exposed to life-giving alternatives and networks of support (i.e. WE WANT TO SAVE BABIES!!).
- Right to Life Michiana REQUIRES advocates to be trained in order to participate in sidewalk counseling.
- If you’re thinking about running for a Right to Life Executive Board position, this training would be a great way to strengthen your candidacy!
